Interview: Chris @ Virtuoso
The following interview was written, and created by Virtuoso, and the questions were answered by myself, Cory, owner, and webmaster of MisterUnscripted.com.

How did you get started web designing?
I got started web design when I was really young, I don't even remember how old I was. I wanted to start a mall on Neopets, so I did, but it was never enough; I had to keep going, and going, and expanding, and that's probably why I have that effect with MisterUnscripted.com. I worked on Neopets for a while, moved to Freewebs to run a site for kids, and had fun there too. I then ran a site with a friend for four days; my introduction to HTML, and that was chaotic. I left, and returned to my site for kids on Freewebs. I had to venture out, and so I did, leaving Freewebs, and moving to Freespaces where I started up the beginning of MisterUnscripted.com,BigBytes. BigBytes was a MySpace resource site, mainly, and was really small; I got excited when I had two visitors, and one was me, but I was okay with that. I got about 100 visitors a year, if that, and it was sad, and pathetic. I found inspiration in a few sites, and had to buy a domain; I couldn't handle Freespaces. I had never used FTP, so I figured with a domain their would be a File Manager, and with MisterUnscripted.com, cPanel had one! I was in luck, and here I am today; fully equipped with the knowledge of HTML, CSS, FTP, PHP, Javascript, and a few other necessities, and of course, my HTML, and CSS books that I refer to everytime I am stuck with a problem.

What sites have given you inspiration, if any?
My inspiration has come from so many sites, it would be impossible to name them all. I love browsing the Internet, clicking from affiliate to affiliate, to link to link, and not knowing where I am going to end up. I then see an amazing design, or some spectacular feature, and I build on it, and make it my own, off the top of my head, long after I have closed the tab. I never look back a second time at inspiration, because I'll lose the sense I had when I first saw it. Then, of course, I always have my personal daily sites that give me inspiration all the time.

How do you approach making your layouts, and/or graphics?
When I sit down to work on a design of any type, I think; what will make this POP? Literally, those are the words that go through my head, and I always find something. I like paint splashes, and dark colours, as well as blues, greens, and golds. I come in with an open mind, but a set goal, and I acheive whatever I am working at.

Do your family, and friends know about your site?
My family knows about my site, yes, for sure. My parents bought me the domain for my birthday, and sometimes visit it. My grandparents even visit my site, which I think is pretty cool. My friends know about it, but may have forgotten. I always talked about it on instant messengers, had information about it in my screen name, and posted MySpace bulletins about it until the world knew. My friends sometimes bring it up, but it's more of an online world now; the people I meet, and interact with online I can relate to more about site related subjects, whereas my offline friends have their own interests. It all really depends on who you talk to, but yes, my family knows, and my friends did know.

Has you site gone through many transformations over the years?
My site has gone through at least 100 transformations over the years. From the move to a little Freespaces account to this huge, paying domain account, would be the biggest, but I love to launch new features, and cater to my visitors, so MisterUnscripted.com is always tranforming.

Do you consider yourself a good site owner?
I consider myself an amazing site owner. I am very dedicated, I have a strong mind, and I love to create, and interact with all my visitors; it's just me, and I wouldn't settle for anything less than amazing.

How about graphic maker?
I do consider myself pretty good at graphics, but I'm more into coding. I've always liked Math, so I assue that's where it comes from, but I have no idea. I like to make things work, and fit together when nobody thought there was a way. I like to solve problems, and experiment, and learn new things. Graphic design is amazing, don't get my wrong, but coding is definitely my favourite.

Are you proud of your site?
Proud? I'm addicted. I love my site, and I would give it up for nothing. I work so hard on it every day, and I am always thinking of how I can make it bigger, better, faster, nicer, more professional. I want it to be a business, but I have a life too, and I can't off the Internet.

Have you ever considered deleting your site, and leaving for good?
Never. I would never leave my site. Each time my plan is about to expire, I do contemplate what would happen if I didn't renew it, and I hate it. I love having a site; it's my hobby, and it gives me something to do, but I love it, and it's my learning resource. I can think, and plan, and create all by myself, and it's my site, so I make the rules.

Do you plan on continuing with web design throughout your life, particularly with your own site?
Yes, I do plan on continuing with web design throughout my life, and I do hope to keep up a site of my own. I want to go into computer development, and I would love to run a company focusing on that, and web design; maybe two companies? My life is pretty much set with my great grades, and dedication, so I could do anything, but I know I will always stay true to web design; it's my passion.
