Of course, before any website starts, there needs to be a beginning; the buying of a domain is always the hardest part for any website owner, as it is a long process, and most designers are impatient, and want their site up immediately. Unfortunately, there's a process, and it will takes some time.
Step 1
First, you will need to lookup your domain, in a domain registry database, to see if it is available.
Step 2
If your domain is available, you will then proceed to ordering the domain. If it is unavailable, you will need to choose a new name; it's usually easier if you have a unique name in mind, before going to order; that way, the likelihood of it being taken is slim.
Step 3
Next, you will have to choose your plan; be sure to read the details of all offered plans, so that you get the most out of your money, to fit your own personal, or business needs.
Step 4
Once you are sure of the plan you are interested in; order.
Step 5
You will always be provided with inbetween pages, no matter what host you are purchasing from. Reminders of how great the company is, advertisements, bonus domain names you can get for a certain price, etc. Usually, if you are buying a domain, it's one domain, not one domain name, and twelve extentions; misterunscripted.com, not misterunscripted.com, misterunscripted.net, misterunscripted.org, misterunscripted.info, etc. There's no use for all those other domains; so, skip the advertisements, company promotions, and addon domain names; proceed to the order form.
Step 6
Once you reach the order form; precision is undescribably important! If you speall your first name one letter wrong, even just a typo, lawsuits could occur for faking an identity. Be very careful when ordering online for anything; precision is necessary! This goes for your domain name as well; spell it correctly, this is the only chance you have. If you spell it with a typo; the company isn't going to care, or fix it; it's permanent until your plan term expires, or until you buy a new domain to cover it up, but that will cost you double in the end, to have to buy two domains!
Step 7
Precision is also important with your credit card information, or whatever service you are ordering with. If the credit card number, or PayPal e-mail address, etc. is incorrect; no domain. Once you are clear that everything is absolutely perfect, after triple checking, choose submit.
Step 8
Then, you will be sent to a thank you page, or a confirmation page, which you can read over, and understand all the necessary instructions for the future of your domain. Every company is different, and may contact you by e-mail, phone, mail, etc. Soonafter; you will receive all your domain login information, and other instructions; follow them correctly, and you'll be uploading in no time!
Completion!
Congratulations! You have just registered your domain! Apply for AFFILIATES?!
